Talmadge D. “Billy” Carr Jr., age 80, of Hazlehurst, passedquietly into the Lord’s hands on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, aftersuffering from several illnesses the past few months.

He was predeceased by his parents, Talmadge D. Carr Sr. andMaggie Lee Conn Carr; and a sister, Betty Jean Carr Berry.

His two remaining siblings are LaRue Carr Burt and husband,Jack, of Crystal Springs, and a brother, Joey Lee Carr and wife,Martha, of Sontag.

He leaves behind three daughters, Deborah Carr Luper andhusband, Lavelle, of Hazlehurst, Tamara Carr King and husband,Jerry, of Monticello, and Sandi Carr Stephens and husband, LaRue,of Long Beach.

He also leaves behind four granddaughters, Lacy LuperWilliamson, of Jackson, Jenny King Branton, of Ferriday, La., JulieStephens Brown, of Long Beach, and Ashley Dawn Stephens, also ofLong Beach.

He also leaves four great-grandsons and twogreat-granddaughters.

Graveside services will be held in Crystal Springs at Pilgrim’sRest Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m.Chancellor’s Funeral Home in Byram is in charge of services.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made toGallman Baptist Church building fund in Gallman.
