Brookhaven Academy takes over Prairie View

The Brookhaven Academy Cougars and Lady Cougars swept a pair ofnon-division varsity games from the Prairie View (La.) SpartansSaturday in John R. Gray Gymnasium.
Chandler Rogers pumped in 12 points and pulled down 4 reboundsto lead the Cougars to a 75-36 win over the Spartans.
In the varsity girls game, Terah Winborne fired in 15 points andhad 6 assists to spark the BA girls in a 55-44 victory over PrairieView.
BA visits Madison-Ridgeland Academy Monday night beforebeginning play in the District 4-AA tournament Friday night. BothBA teams are seeded No. 1 in the district test at SimpsonAcademy.

The 26-6 BA boys, coached by Dale Watts, got added support fromJeremy Foster and Jake Reed with 9 points apiece. Sam Furr led offthe backboards with 6 rebounds as the Cougars took a 51-21 halftimelead.
Netting 10 points for Prairie View was Chris Anderson.

Coach Barry Gray’s girls (28-4) got added support from LauraBeth Wright with 14 points followed by Anna Katelyn Mangold with 13points. Mangold also pulled down 9 rebounds, followed by Wrightwith 8 boards.
Lena Kate Thompson’s 13 points paced Prairie View. Logan Tubbsnetted 10 points.
