Services for Mary M. Godbold, of McComb, are 11 a.m. Saturday,Feb. 7, at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home Chapel in McComb withburial in Hollywood Cemetery. The Rev. Karen Koons Hayden willofficiate.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home andSaturday from 10 until 11 a.m.

Mrs. Godbold, 83, died Feb. 4, 2009, at Beacham MemorialHospital in Magnolia. She was born in Franklin County on Feb. 10,1925, to George Gill and Leona Howard Gill.

She was a homemaker and for many years worked at Vest Shoes andFirst National Bank. She was a member of Centenary United MethodistChurch, where she was a member of Cecilian Circle and the J.O.Emmerich Sunday school class. She was a former member of St.Andrews United Methodist Church. She was also a member of theAmerican Legion Auxiliary and was very active in her children’s andgrandchildren’s activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EarlPatrick Godbold; an infant son, Loubet Brock; her two brothers; andher two sisters.

Survivors are a son, Gill Godbold, of San Jose, Calif.; herdaughters, Becky Stewart, of Bentonville, Ark., and Jane Quin, ofMcComb; her two brothers, Clyde Gill, of Summit, and Chester Gill,of Metairie, La.; her four grandchildren; her twogreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
