Services for Alton Louis Harveston Sr., of Brookhaven, are 3p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service withburial in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Harveston, 74, died Feb. 14, 2009, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born on Nov. 11, 1934, to Fred William Harveston andMamie Eugenia Furr.

He retired from Heavy Equipment and Safety H2S. He was of theBaptist faith. He always enjoyed getting a crowd together andplaying music, even after he went into the nursing home, he wouldplay and sing for them.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred William Harvestonand Mamie Eugenia Harveston; his son, Glynn Harveston, who was bornon Sept. 21, 1971, passed away on Dec. 20, 1973, and was laid torest at Rosetta Cemetery; his brothers, U.S. Harveston Sr., WilfredHarveston and Willard “Jack” Harveston; and his sisters, Lola BertDunn, Mary Nell Maxwell, Mattie Foster, Kathryn McCloud and ThelmaAlice “Bobby” Hughes.

Survivors are his son, Alton Louis Harveston Jr.; his daughter,Lynn Harveston Jordan and husband, Billy; his sister, Betty AnnEllis; six grandchildren; and his special niece, SherrySellers.
