Services for Hugh Andrew Allen Sr., of Edwards, are 11 a.m.Monday, Feb. 16, at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Vicksburg withburial in Edwards Cemetery. The Revs. Reggie Crawford and EricWelch will officiate.

Visitation is Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.

Mr. Allen, 79, died Feb. 13, 2009, at Regency Hospital inJackson.

He was a native of Copiah County and lived in Edwards for 47years. He owned and operated a radio and television repair shop inEdwards. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural lettercarrier after 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Koreanconflict and a member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George A. Allen andSusie Bell Kimble; his maternal grandparents, Stephen Elijah Kimbleand Martha Britt Kimble; and his paternal grandparents, ThadeausAllen and Laura Allen.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Jo Allen, of Edwards; his sons,Hugh Andrew Allen Jr., of Saginaw, Texas, and Joel Dexter Allen andDana Matthew Allen, both of Vicksburg; his daughter, Ava LorraineStathes, of Houma, La.; his brothers, Aubrey Steve Allen, NathanSeth Allen and Troy Leroy Allen, all of Brookhaven, and GeorgeMelvin Allen, of Bogue Chitto; seven grandchildren; and severalnieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
