Hosick powers BHS girls to win over McComb

MCCOMB – Brookhaven pitcher Brooke Hosick struck out 5 battersand walked 3 to lead the Lady Panthers to a 3-2 fastpitch win overthe McComb Lady Tigers Tuesday night.
Kamey Creel fanned 8 batters and walked 3 in the loss.
Brookhaven led 2-0 for two innings. McComb scored 1 run in thethird and 1 in the fourth to tie the game at 2-all going into thefifth inning.
In the top of the seventh, Hosick got a 1-out squeeze bunt downto score pinch runner Erica Lenior got the game-winning run.
“The girls played a good game,” said Brookhaven girls coach ChadWalker. “We finally put a complete game together.”
Powering the Panthers with a double and a single was SabrinaDelaughter. Casey Risher, Hannah Lowman, Stevie Wright and Hosicksingled.
The Tigers were paced by Chelsea Cannon with a pair of singles.Hitting safely were Candice Church, Annie Artigues, Victoria Priceand Creel.

McComb knocked off Brookhaven 7-4.
Pacing the Panthers with 2 singles each were Jamie Swington andLenoir. Emily Freeman, Laurel Smith and Karlee Ballard singled.
Absorbing the loss was Madeline Delaughter with 3 strikeouts and8 walks.
