Jackets sweep tourney

The Enterprise Yellow Jackets claimed the Lincoln CountyBaseball Tournament championship Saturday by defeating Bogue Chitto13-1 and host West Lincoln 4-0 on a cold, windy day. The Jacketshad knocked off Loyd Star Friday.
“We played good defense and had good pitching for both games,”said Enterprise first-year head baseball coach Cass Brister. “Weexecuted really well. I’m proud of our kids.”

The Jackets held Bogue Chitto hitless in 4 innings. TrentHerrington (1 K, 3 BB) pitched the win.
At the plate, a grand slam homer by Ryan Kennedy directed thetriumph. Clay Russell and Herrington both doubled and singled.
Michael Martin (5 K, 6 BB) was the losing pitcher.
Enterprise 4, W. Lincoln 0
Tanner Delcambre pitched a 2-hit shutout against thehomestanding Bears. He fanned 8 batters and walked 3.
“Tanner pitched a good game and our defense played well,” saidCoach Brister.
Home runs by Trent Herrington and Clay Russell directed theoffensive. Travis Leggett had 2 hits.
Micah Bivens (1 K, 3 BB) was the losing pitcher.
