Services for Eva “Shelby” Gunnell, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, April 14, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel in Brookhavenwith burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gunnell, 91, died April 12, 2009, at New Dawn RetirementCenter. She was born on Aug. 8, 1917, to William Joseph Lambert andElizabeth Ard.

She was a farmer and owner of Gunnell’s Grocery Store for 30years. She was a member of Ruth Baptist Church in Ruth.

Preceding her in death was her parents; her husband, JohnQuitman Gunnell; her brothers, Plez, Leon, Troy, Roy, Clell, Oscarand Ross Lambert; and her sisters, Lena Smith, Nonnie Peavey, RuthBoone and Charlene Lambert.

Survivors are a son, Johnny Joe Gunnell and wife, Sue, ofBrookhaven; a daughter, Dollie G. Brent and husband, Fred, of BogueChitto; her four grandchildren, Joey Brent and wife, Kathy, ofSoutheast Asia, Shelley Johnston and husband, Perry, of Franklin,Tenn., Jeff Brent and wife, Theresa, of McComb, Scott Gunnell andwife, Anne, of Moyock, N.C.; and two step grandchildren, ShirleyAllen, of Bogue Chitto, and Steve Gunnell, of Brookhaven; and herseven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and herthree step great-grandchildren.
