Nolan Alvin Brewer
Services for Nolan Alvin Brewer, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, April 21, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in New Sight Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Brewer, 70, died April 19, 2009, at Countrybrook LivingCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Clara on Aug. 22, 1938, toTyson and Lula McCarty Brewer.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Dement ConstructionCo. for many years. He was a member of New Sight BaptistChurch.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Billy RayBrewer; and a granddaughter, Amy Rae McGuffee.
Survivors are his children and their spouses, Tom and DebraBrewer Smith, Steve and Shirley Brewer, Lane and Becky BrewerBarron, and Anson and Sheila Brewer; a brother, Homer Fred Brewer;his nine grandchildren; and his six great-grandchildren
Pallbearers are Kyle James, Jeremy James, Morgan Barron, AdamMcGuffee, Will Brewer and Tyson Davis.
Honorary pallbearers are James Furlow and Howard Smith.
Alma Lyons Burrell
Graveside services for Alma Lyons Burrell, of Hendersonville,Tenn., were 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, at Rocky Hill Baptist ChurchCemetery in Wesson. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in chargeof arrangements.
Mrs. Burrell, 93, died April 18, 2009, at Hendersonville MedicalCenter. She was born on Aug. 19, 1915, to George Lyons and LouCastilow Lyons.
She was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church.Preceding her indeath were her parents; and her brothers, Prentiss Lyons and GeorgeLyons.
Survivors are a daughter, Dorothy Stuart Brewer; her threegrandchildren, Jimmie C. Brewer Jr., Marrianne Baugh and JohnWesley Brewer and wife, Kellye; her five great-grandchildren,Jeremie Brewer and wife, Nikki, Carl Brewer III and wife, Shonda,Brittney Lloyd and husband, Josh, and Jordan Elizabeth Baugh andHailey Brewer; her three great-great-grandchildren, Baylee Brewer,Miranda Brewer and Dylan Brewer; and a special grandson, DwightSullivan and wife, Kandi, and their children, Breanna andAllyson.
Hazel Burris Cain
Graveside services for Hazel Burris Cain, of McComb, are noonWednesday, April 22, at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in McCallCreek. The Rev. James Case will officiate.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at Hartman-SharkeyFuneral Home in McComb.
Mrs. Cain, 97, died April 16, 2009, at McComb Nursing andRehabilitation Center. She was born in Smithdale on Oct. 29, 1911,to John H. and Fannie Alford Burris.
She was a retired teacher and also retired from Kellwood Co. Shewas a long-time member of Concord Baptist Church in McCallCreek.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George M.Cain; and her brothers, Wilton E. Burris and J.A. Burris.
Survivors are a son, Dr. G. Douglas Cain, of Houston, Texas; adaughter, Patricia C. Randall, of McComb; her two grandchildren,David Russell Edwards and wife, Kim, and Pamela E. Moore andhusband, Brian; his two great-grandsons, Erik Edwards and RyanEdwards; his two sisters-in-law, Virginia Burris, of the Thompsoncommunity, and Maimo Cain Welch, of Beltsville, Md.; and severalnieces and nephews.
The Rev. L. C. Hoff
Services for the Rev. L. C. Hoff, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Monday, April 20, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial inRosehill Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.
The Rev. Hoff, 95, died April 17, 2009, at Haven Hall HealthcareCenter. He was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 23, 1913, to Frank andCumyra Hoff.
He was a graduate of Clarke College, Mississippi College and NewOrleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He married the former JewelPierce in 1942. Mrs. Hoff passed away in 1993.
The Rev. Hoff was a Christian and a retired Baptist minister. Inhis more than 50 years in the ministry, he was the pastor ofchurches in Crystal Springs, Florence, Columbia and Biloxi, as wellas churches in Eudora and Lake Village, Ark. He was a member of Mt.Moriah Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and hissisters, Lessie H. Kyzar and Idell H. Boyd.
Survivors are his brother, A.L. Hoff and wife, Dolores, ofBrookhaven; his sons, Donald Hoff and wife, Laura Ann, of Valdosta,Ga., and Jerry Hoff and wife, Patrice, of Columbia; hisgrandchildren, Tessa Burns, of Winter Park, Fla., Erica Thomas andDonald Hoff, both of Pensacola, Fla., Angie Baugh of West Monroe,La., and Brett Hoff, of Columbia; seven great-grandchildren; andmany nieces and nephews.
Billy George Jenkins
Services for Billy George Jenkins, of Silver Creek, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, April 21, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Crooked Creekwith burial in Cliburn Cemetery. Community Funeral Services is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Jenkins, 66, died April 18, 2009, in Jackson. He was born inPrentiss on Jan. 10, 1943, to William P. Jenkins and Jewel DouglasJenkins.
He was a graduate of Prentiss High School. He retired fromThrasher Architectural Co. as shop manager. He was a member ofCrooked Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic LodgeNo. 472.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Doris Jones;and a brother, Jerry Jenkins.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Nell Jenkins, of Silver Creek; ason, Billy Ray Jenkins; his daughters, Kathy Wade, Teresa Jacksonand Glenda Spears; his sisters, Peggy Davis, Donna Clark and DonnisLingle; his 15 grandchildren; and his sevengreat-grandchildren.
