Thelma Neal Rushing, of Brandon, lost her courageous battle withpancreatic cancer on May 9, 2009, at St. Dominic-Jackson MemorialHospital in Jackson. Visitation is May 11, 2009, from 5 until 8p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Grace Primitive Baptist Church inPearl with burial to follow at Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery inMagee.

Mrs. Rushing was a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church,which she loved. She worked as an accounting supervisor inexpense/payables at McRae’s/Saks in Jackson for more than 20years.

She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 24, 1939. She was alongtime resident of Brookhaven and Clinton and was a currentresident of Brandon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fulton B. Neal; hermother, Daisy Brister Neal; and a brother, Hugh Lee Neal.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Kenneth E. Rushing;two sons, Ken Michael Rushing and his wife, Margaret, of Brandon,and Darryl Lance Rushing and his wife, Janice, of Clinton; fourgrandchildren, Lance, Chelsea, Abbie and Brett; a brother, JamesFarrell Neal and his wife, Jenny, from La Luz, N.M.; andsisters-in-law, Shirley Neal and Margaret Rushing, from Brookhaven,and Martha Rushing, from Magee.
