Hosea Corley Jr.

Services for Hosea Corley Jr., of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Friday, June 19, at St. Mark M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burialin Friendship Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home.

Mr. Corley, 76, died June 13, 2009, at the University Hospitalin New Orleans, La. He was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 8, 1933, toHosea Corley Sr. and Ethel Corley.

He was a former landscaper.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a son, EarlCorley.

Survivors are his wife, Samantha Ball Corley, of Brookhaven; hissons, Steven Corley, Calvin Corley, of New Orleans, Ronald Corley,of Brookhaven, Lionel Corley, of Slidell, La.; his daughters,Ethelena Bolen, of New Orleans, and Jacqueline Ann Corley, ofBrookhaven; his brothers, David Corley, of Crystal Springs, andCharlie Corley, of Huntsville, Ala.; his sisters, Marylou Butler,of New Orleans, and Gladys Combre, of Huntsville; his 11grandchildren; and his 13 great-grandchildren.

Evie Oneda McChargue

Services for Evie Oneda McChargue, of Madison, are 2 p.m.Saturday, June 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. McChargue, 83, died June 17, 2009, at Hospice Ministries.She was born in Winona on Jan. 3, 1926, to Hugh Henry Carithers andViola Lindsay Carithers.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch, where she loved her church family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 65years, Artie B. McChargue; and her brothers, Hugh Thomas Carithersand William Edward Carithers.

Survivors are a brother, Albert T. Carithers, of Brookhaven; hersisters, Dartha L. Lawson, of Monticello, Ark., Martha L. Russell,of Irving, Texas, and Murline C. Payne, of Blackridge, Va.; and ahost of nieces and nephews.

Dr. Robert ‘Bob’ Netherland

Services for Dr. Robert “Bob” Netherland, of Stephenville,Texas, are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at First Presbyterian Churchin Stephenville. Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville is in charge ofarrangements.

Dr. Netherland, 74, died June 16, 2009. He was born inBrookhaven on Dec. 22, 1934, to George and Hattie WardNetherland.

He was a math and physics professor at Tarleton StateUniversity. Dr. Netherland graduated from Brookhaven High School.He married Diane Kissell on June 19, 1976, in Texas. He was aveteran of the U.S. Marines serving in both the Korean War and theVietnam War.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Diane; and his children, Pamela, Paul,Peter and Philip.

Edwin Nick Sandidge

Services for Edwin Nick Sandidge, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, wereSaturday, June 6, at First Baptist Church with burial in NevillsChapel Cemetery. Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Sandidge, 83, died June 3, 2009, in Mount Pleasant. He wasborn in Heuck’s Retreat on Dec. 14, 1925, to Bennie Lamar Sandidgeand Lillian Little Sandidge.

He was a mine manager for TXU. Mr. Sandidge was a Mason and aveteran serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS St. Louis and at IwoJima. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, CharlesSandidge; his brothers, Lamar and John Sandidge; and his sisters,Agatha Sandidge and Kathleen Nations.

Survivors are his wife, Anita Page Sandidge, of Mount Pleasant;a daughter, Deborah Carr and husband, Royce, of Mount Pleasant; asister, Rebecca Grim, of Brookhaven; and his five grandchildren,Preston, Paul and Patrick Carr, Matthew Sandidge and Sarah BethSandidge.
