George Brown
Services for George Brown, of Bogue Chitto, are 2 p.m. Friday,June 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on North Jackson Streetwith burial in Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brown, 77, died June 17, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onSept. 21, 1931, to Jim Brown and Lizzie Prestridge Brown.
He worked in the bleach plant for International Paper Co. for 42years. Mr. Brown served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Hewas of Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Talmage,James, Ira and Troy Brown; his sisters, Louise Brown Laird andMaxine Brown Kelly.
Survivors are his wife, Shiela M. Brown, of Bogue Chitto; a son,Michael S. Brown, of Jackson; a daughter, Cheryl Brown Ezell andhusband, Eddie, of Waxahachie, Texas; his brothers, Robert Brownand wife, Margie, of Natchez, and Truitt Brown and wife, Ernestine,of Brookhaven; a sister, Gynell Brown Bonds, of Baton Rouge, La.;his sisters-in-law, Rowena Clark Brown, of Brookhaven, KathrynFreeman Brown, of Bogue Chitto, and Matt Huckaby Brown, of MossPoint; his three grandchildren, Kim Pointer and husband, Shawn, ofGulfport, Michael Brown, of Brandon, and Timothy Ezell, ofWaxahachie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ronald Edgar Farris
Services for Ronald Edgar Farris, of Magnolia, are 11:30 a.m.Saturday, June 20, at Community Funeral Services Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Union Church Cemetery in UnionChurch.
Visitation is Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Farris, 65, died June 17, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Union Church onDec. 24, 1943, to John Garland Farris Sr. and Lessie Mae PattersonFarris.
He was retired. He was of Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, JohnGarland Farris Jr.
Survivors are a brother, David Farris, of McComb; his sisters,Rose Marie Farris, Georgie Belle Hunter, both of Goodrich, Texas,and Kathy Moore, of Brookhaven; and numerous nieces andnephews.
Bobbie Gatlin
Bobbie Gatlin, 80, of McComb, passed away June 18, 2009, atMcComb Extended Care.
Visitation was Friday from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. atJones Family Funeral Services in McComb. Dr. Barry Ward officiated.Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Gatlin was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Brookhaven. She was thedaughter of the late Walton and Gertrude Farmer Morgan.
Mrs. Gatlin was a wonderful homemaker and a member of the FirstBaptist Church in Magnolia. Her family said she was a loving motherwith a smile for all. She lost her battle with Alzheimer’s andcancer and is now at home with Jesus. Her job was rearing herfamily and later caring for her husband of 46 years, who wasbedridden. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth H.Gatlin; a sister, Yvonne Norton; a brother, R.W. Morgan; and agrandson, Kenny Gatlin.
Mrs. Gatlin is survived by her two sons, Randy and wife, AngelGatlin, of Denham Springs, La., and Ricky Gatlin, of Baton Rouge,La.; three daughters and their spouses, Linda and Dick Stogner, ofMcComb, Kathy and Steve Quin, of Summit, and Pam and StanHartfield, of Denham Springs; seven grandchildren, Mike Stogner,Vicky Williams, Amy Rhodes, Stacy Baize, Jessica Gatlin, ChristyGatlin and Paige Gatlin; and eight great-grandchildren along withnumerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stogner, Dick Stogner, Damon Williams,Ricky Gatlin, Don Burkhalter and Tom Dickinson.
