Services for Beatrice Case Altazin, of Baton Rouge, La., were 10a.m. Monday, June 29, at Greenoaks Funeral Home Chapel in BatonRouge.

Mrs. Altazin, 88, died June 26, 2009, at Hospice of BatonRouge’s Butterfly Wing. She was born in Rosetta on April 26, 1921,to Enoch and Marvyn Day Case.

She graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1939. She began acareer in property and casualty insurance with the Godbold Agencyin Brookhaven. Moving to Baton Rouge in 1946, she continued herinsurance career with Bynum & Grace Insurance, retiring after40 years of service in 1986. Mrs. Altazin was an avid reader with aspecial fondness for novels written about Mississippi or byMississippi authors. She was a member of Goodwood Church of Christladies’ Bible class. She was a loving mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She will be remembered by family and friends forher good spirit and quick wit. A refined, beautiful SteelMagnolia.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlceeFrank Altazin; a brother, Enoch Welch Case; and her sisters, EthelCase Grant and Dorothy Case Lewis.

Survivors are a daughter, Sandra Pearce, of Lafayette, La.; ason, Barry Altazin, of Baton Rouge; her four grandchildren; and hertwo great-grandchildren.
