Services for Delores Peavy Burris, of Monticello, are 10 a.m.Thursday, July 2, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Pleasant Grove United Methodist ChurchCemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Burris, 85, died June 30, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born on Feb. 20, 1924, to ArchiePeavy and Courtney Fuller Peavy.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Grove UnitedMethodist Church. Mrs. Burris was also a member of the Order of theEastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Archie Peavy andCourtney Fuller Peavy; her husband, Nolan Burris; and her sons,Nolan Dee Burris and Bruce Darryl Burris Sr.

Survivors are a son, Kenney Burris and wife, Linda Burris, ofSaint Francisville, La.; and her three grandchildren, Darryl Burrisand wife, April Burris, of Brookhaven, Jesse Burris, of SaintFrancisville, and Mike Nuckles and wife, Susan, of Brookhaven.
