One in hospital, one in jail after shooting

A Lawrence County man is in stable but critical condition at theUniversity of Mississippi Medical Center and a Jefferson DavisCounty man is in jail following a Wednesday night shooting on RoseHill Road, authorities said.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Undersheriff Willie Wallacesaid Anthony Brown, believed to be in his mid-to late-30s, isalleged to have been shot in the head during an altercation withAlbon Randolph Jr., 36, from the Progress community in JeffersonDavis County.
“Basically just a guy shot this guy. We think there might havebeen a girlfriend involved,” Wallace said.
The incident occurred on Rose Hill Road in the Rose Hillcommunity in Lawrence County between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.Witnesses said Brown was taken to Lawrence County Hospital byambulance, and was flown to UMC from there.
Meanwhile Randolph turned himself in to officials after theshooting. He is charged with aggravated assault.
Wallace said the shooting is still under investigation.
“We’re still working on it. It’s a bad thing,” Wallace said.
