Lady Bears blast Enterprise

West Lincoln’s Lady Bears broke a scoreless duel with a 3-runfourth inning and roared to an 8-1 Monday victory over the visitingEnterprise Lady Yellow Jackets. The Bears scored 5 more runs in thebottom of the sixth as Enterprise suffered its first loss in 4games.

“We hit the ball well but I like to see our girls hit early inthe game instead of late,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd.”Our girls are improving and they’re doing a good job.” The Bearsdidn’t commit an error.

West Lincoln (3-1) finished with 11 hits, led by Hannah Knouseand Katie Mullins who doubled and singled. Keri Easley and HaleyAinsworth singled twice.

Jessica Franklin (0 K, 1 BB) pitched the victory. Lacey Orr (1K, 0 BB) absorbed the loss.

“West Lincoln got some key hits at the right time,” saidEnterprise coach Steve Sasser. “They played good defense, too.

“We must prepare for them again on Thursday,” at Enterprise.

The Jackets (3-1) collected 9 hits and committed 2 errors. Orr,Chynna Coghlan and Kolby Lewis singled twice as they scored theirlone run in he sixth.

In the JV game, West Lincoln beat Enterprise 12-6 as MarisaPruski, Rebecca Reeves, Peyton Mullins and Katelyn Robertssingled.

Kayla Beth Rushing (3 K, 7 BB) pitched the win. Lauren McCaffery(3 K, 5 BB) took the loss.

Kelsey Hux led Enterprise in batting.
