Marlett ‘Buddy’ Wallace

Services for Marlett “Buddy” Wallace, of Bogue Chitto, are 11a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Wallace, 76, passed away with his wife and five children athis bedside on Aug. 30, 2009, at his residence. He was born inLincoln County on Jan. 13, 1933, to Martin Wallace and Elena BrownWallace.

After 39 years of service, he retired from Homelite Textron. Hewas a member of Bogue Chitto Masonic Lodge. Mr. Wallace was also alifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, EdithMarie Wallace, Audrey Wallace and Oma Wallace Winborne; and hisbrothers, Earl ‘Mutt’ Wallace Sr., Irven Wallace and George Earl”Swamper” Winborne.

Survivors are his wife, Sadie Porter Wallace, of Bogue Chitto; ason, Phillip Lee Wallace and wife, Pam, of Bogue Chitto; hisdaughters, Charlotte W. Laird and husband, Robert, of the WestLincoln community, Amaryllis W. Leggett and husband, Andy, KathrynW. Smith and husband, Eric, and Cindy W. King and husband, Jarvis,all of Bogue Chitto; his brothers, Aubrey “Bud” Wallace, of BogueChitto, and Lewis Wallace, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Eva NellAdams, Sally Porter, both of Bogue Chitto, and Laverne “Missy”Hancock, of Summit; his 10 grandchildren; his sixgreat-grandchildren; and his special caretaker and niece, FayePorter Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministriesor Calvary Baptist Church.
