Amarpal Singh
Memorial services for Amarpal Singh, of Monticello, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Singh, 52, died Aug. 27, 2009, at Jefferson Davis CommunityHospital. He was born on July 16, 1957, to Pralad Singh and HarbansKaur Singh.
He was an owner of a convenience store.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Surjeet Kaur Singh; his sons, PushpalSingh and wife, Katie, and Gurjyot Singh, all of Monticello; adaughter, Dashleen Kaur, of Monticello; his brothers, Sanmukh Singhand Dilbag Singh, of India; and a grandchild, Harleen SadieSingh.

Harold Lloyd Thorpe
Services for Harold Lloyd Thorpe, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NorthJackson Street with burial in Natchez City Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Thorpe, 87, died Aug. 31, 2009, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven. He was born in Natchez on Dec. 21, 1921, to George C.Thorpe Sr. and Pearl Florence Kile Thorpe.
After 38 years of service, he retired from Acme RefrigerationWholesale in Baton Rouge, La. Mr. Thorpe was also a farmer. Heserved in the U.S. Army serving in World War II and was also aquartermaster. He was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, RaymondThorpe, George Thorpe Jr., Loyd Thorpe and Gerald Thorpe; and hissisters, Fay Aldridge, Margret Cangemi and Georgia Lee Jordan.
Survivors are his brothers, John W. Thorpe, James E. Thorpe andwife, Carolyn, all of Natchez, and Darol Thorpe, of Union Church;and his numerous nieces and nephews.
