WESSON – Authorities were searching for a suspect following anattempted armed robbery that resulted in a fatal shooting Tuesdayafternoon at a local pawn shop.

Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart said a man was shot in theincident that happened around 2:30 p.m. at Wesson Pawn and Gun Inc.on Highway 51. The victim’s identity was not immediately known.

The suspect in the case was described as a white male, possiblyin his 20s, driving an older model Chevrolet truck. The truck’scolor is primer grey with some form of emblem on the hood, saidauthorities at the scene.
