Services for Elizabeth Cossar Becker, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Sept. 12, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Becker, 95, died Sept. 9, 2009, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born on Oct. 16, 1913, to John HarperCossar and Lottie Thompson Cossar.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United MethodistChurch. Mrs. Becker was also a member of Colonial Danes of America,Climbers Club, Junior Auxiliary and the Day Lily Society. She alsohas served on the board at Brookhaven Country Club and on the boardof the United Givers Fund. She received the “Soap Box Award” fromBrookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce for her work infounding the Brookhaven Recreation Department.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John Harper Cossar andLottie Thompson Cossar; and her husband, Walter D. Becker.

Survivors are her sons, Walter D. Becker Jr. and wife,Catherine, of Madison, and Robert Fonda Becker, of Mobile, Ala.
