Clarence E. Johnston

Clarence E. Johnston, 51, of Summit, died Sept. 15, 2009, atSelect Specialty Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on Feb.24, 1958, in Brookhaven.

He was the son of Emmit and Clara Jean Davis Johnston, ofSummit. He was the owner/operator of McComb Wholesale Paper Co. Hewas a member of South McComb Baptist Church. He was very active inthe McComb Exchange Club and the Dixie Youth Baseball program wherehe coached for many years, including coaching of his three sons. Healso served as Dixie Youth Baseball commissioner.

He is survived by his parents; his wife, Kay Fleming Johnston,of Summit; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ryan and LorenJohnston, of Biloxi, Trevan Johnston and Justin Johnston, both ofSummit; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Gina Johnston, ofSummit; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry “Poncho” andDana Fleming, of Biloxi; two nephews, Tanner Johnston, of Summit,and Chris Fleming, of Starkville; one niece, Paige Fleming, ofHattiesburg; and numerous other relatives, friends and loyalcustomers that he dearly loved.

Visitation is Friday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McCombfrom 5 until 8 p.m. and continues Saturday at South McComb BaptistChurch from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. JoeyBarnard, Dr. David Millican and the Rev. Brent Rutland officiating.Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Newman, Michael Davis, Mark Davis,Mike Cutrer, Paul Malone, William Earl Wilkinson, Larry Sasser andHenry “Poncho” Fleming. Honorary pallbearers will be TannerJohnston and Chris Fleming.

Merton Chester ‘Chet’ Parrow

Services for Merton Chester “Chet” Parrow, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Parrow, 54, died Sept. 18, 2009, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on June 10,1955, to Merald “Sam” Parrow and Betty Parrow.

He was of Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Merald “Sam” Parrow andBetty Parrow; and his sisters, Marian Parrow and Becky Parrow.

Survivors are a son, Mark Parrow; a daughter, Tonya King; abrother, Merald “Sambo” Parrow; his sisters, Micki Murphy, MaryHughes, May Loveland and Myrtle Sorar; and a grandchild, KayleeKing.
