Magee bags MACJC defense honor

WESSON – Co-Lin linebacker Ronny Magee has been recognized as aDefensive Player of the Week in the Mississippi Association ofCommunity/Junior Colleges. Magee (6-0, 215), a sophomore fromMendenhall, returned a fumble 45 yards for a touchdown and wascredited with 4 tackles in Co-Lin’s 15-3 victory over the archrivalSouthwest Mississippi Bears last Thursday night in StoneStadium.
Also among the defensive player honored were East Mississippilinebacker Alvin Ellis, Gulf Coast linebacker Sammy Brown,Northwest tackle Chris Little, Pearl River tackle Daniel Hayden andPearl River linebacker Jarvis McCann.
Special Teams honors went to Pearl River placekicker TravisBradley who made 6 of 6 PAT’s and a 32-yard field goal in theWildcats’ 45-3 win over Hinds.
Sharing Offensive Player of the Week honors were Gulf Coastquarterback Greg Jenkins, Gulf Coast receiver Kalvin Bolden,Northwest quarterback Casey Weston, Northwest receiver MichaelLindsey and Pearl River tailback Rashod Henry.
Co-Lin (2-2, 1-1) plays a non-division game Saturday at Coahomain Clarksdale. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m.
