Memorial services for Albert Lawrence Smith, of Hammond, La.,formerly of Brookhaven, are from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7,at Williams Mortuary Chapel in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 61, died Sept. 29, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on April 27, 1948, to Albert James Smith andErnestine Johnson Smith.

He attended Eva Harris High School. Mr. Smith was acarpenter.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, SemmieSmith and Roland Smith; and a sister, Catherine Washington.

Survivors are his wife, Jackie Smith, of Atlanta, Ga.; his sons,Albert Lawrence Smith Jr., of Brookhaven, Emanuel Bishop, ofMcComb, Shannon T. Smith, of Detroit, Mich., T.J. Smith, of BatonRouge, La., and Albert Demon Smith, of Fort Benning, Ga.; hisdaughters, Marilyn May, of New Orleans, La., Ann Smith, of Temple,Texas, Kimberly Tolbert, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Sierra Smith,of Amite, La.; his brothers, Olian James Smith, of Joliet, Ill.,and Dempsey Smith, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Neillie Bryant, ofChicago, Ill., Lillie Blue, Jeanette Washington, Josie Carter andJoann Thompson, all of Brookhaven; a number of grandchildren; and ahost of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
