Ruth Marie Moffet Emfinger

Memorial services for Ruth Marie Moffet Emfinger, of Brookhaven,are 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Community Methodist Church inFayette. The Rev. Laurie Raborn will officiate. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Emfinger, 83, died Oct. 9, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn on Jan. 16, 1926, to James Moffet and Ailene BryantMoffet.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was amember of Community Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James and AileneMoffet; her brothers, Bilbo and James Moffet; and her grandson,Carey Andrew Martin.

Survivors are her husband, Ellis Emfinger; her daughters, HelenDay and husband, Randy, of Brookhaven, and Mamie Jones and husband,Roland, of California; her sister, Hazel Beasley, of Fayette; hergrandchildren, Bruce and Kim Butler, Dwayne and Kim Bullock, andBrandy and Derek Smith, all of Brookhaven, and Preston Wilcox andSteve Jones, both of California; her great-grandchildren, Holdenand Reid Butler, Jerred, Peyton and Marleigh Bullock, and Tristyn,Savanna and Karli Martin, all of Brookhaven, and Donavan and BaileyWilcox, both of California; her very special friend, MonicaBullock; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Honorary pallbearers are Randy Day, Roland Jones, Hugh JamesMoffet, Harry Brown, Preston Wilcox and Steve Jones.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to thestaff of Hospice Compassus in McComb.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be madein Mrs. Emfinger’s name to Hospice Compassus, 140 N. 5th St.,McComb, MS 39648.

John ‘J.C.’ Sanders

Services for John “J.C.” Sanders, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, Oct. 13, at St. Luke M.B. Church with burial in HillcrestCemetery. R. E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Monday from noon until 7 p.m. with family presentfrom 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Sanders, 85, died Oct. 7, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onApril 16, 1924, to Lonnie Robinson and Nannie Sanders.

He was employed with Shipper Express as a truck driver for anumber of years and was also a custodian at Alexander School formany years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He wasa member of St. Luke M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Eric Sanders;his brothers, the Rev. Jerry Brown, James Robinson, Charles Sandersand James Edwards; and his sisters, Ella Mae Smith, Emma Mae Byrdand Frances Ann Sanders.

Survivors are his wife, Mamie Dickey Sanders, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Geneva Suluki, of Oakland, Calif., Sherry Washington, ofBrookhaven, and Ann Sanders Carr, of Starkville; and his sisters,Beatrice Smith Dixon, of Brookhaven, Rosie Sanders, of Vallejo,Calif., Clementine Edwards, of Detroit, Mich., and TauheedahMuhammad, of Oakland; and one granddaughter.

Margaret Neely Graves Watson

Services for Margaret Neely Graves Watson, of Wesson, are 10a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Decell Methodist Church in Wesson withburial at noon Monday in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the church.

Mrs. Watson, 83, died Oct. 9, 2009, at University of MississippiMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Plain on Aug. 17, 1926,to Mack Neely and Hattie Mae Cooper.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Decell MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, WillieEverette Graves II and Lee Otis Watson; and her brother, WillieMaxwell Neely.

Survivors are her son, Willie Graves, of Ridgeland; herdaughters, Linda Phillips, of Nashville, Tenn., Marsha Prisock, ofJackson and Janet Graves, of West Monroe, La.; her grandchildren,Melinda Green, Marshall Graves, Jennifer Graves, Laurie Graves,Bill Bennett and Anna Bennett; and her great-grandchildren, RussellBennett and Kellie Bennett.
