BA roars past ACCS

NATCHEZ — Sidney Chaffin poured in 18 points and sparked theBrookhaven Academy Cougars to a 63-29 Monday night trouncing of theAdams County Christian School Rebels. Jamison Powell added 14points and Jake Reed 13.

In the varsity girls game, the Lady Cougars roared to a 54-14victory, directed by Terah Winborne and Laura Beth Wright with 14points each.

The Cougars (4-2) got 8 rebounds from Powell.Christian (Bubba) Keene had 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Jake Reedscored 13 points, dished out 5 assists and made 4 steals. BrockSmith ad 3 assists.

Coach Dale Watts watched his Cougars cruise to a 35-7 halftimelead.

The Rebels got 12 points from Lee Swinney.

The Lady Cougars (7-1) got 6 rebounds and 4steals from Wright. Winborne had 4 assists and 3 steals. AnnaKatelyn Mangold grabbed 5 rebounds.

Coach Barry Gray’s girls led ACCS 39-10 at halftime.

Junior High Action

In the boys game, BA roared to a 65-23 victory over the Rebels,led by Alex Gray’s 17 points. Will Hickman chipped in 15 points andZach Thornhill 11. Zac Smith added 8 points for the 4-0Cougars.

ACCS got 8 points from Lester Wells and 6 from Jonathon White6.

In the junior high girls game, ACCS posted a 33-17 victory asBraxton Elvesed tossed in 9 points and Tory Laird 8 for ACCS.

BA got 5 points from Madison Warren and 4 from VictoriaJordan.

In a seventh grade girls game, BA won 18-4 as Mary Jordan scored6 points and Marlee Watts 4.

Brookhaven Academy hosts Centreville Academy today, startingwith junior high action at 4 p.m.
