Services for Louis Lavon Holloway, of Jayess, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jayesswith burial in Enon Cemetery. The Revs. Ray Bowling and JustinMorgan will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 p.m. until services at 2 p.m.Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Holloway, 74, died Dec. 6, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Marion County onApril 28, 1935.

Mr. Holloway was a member of Carson Baptist Church in Carson. Hemarried Golda Brister Holloway on Dec. 1, 1962. He was a lovinghusband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker and alwaysprovided for his family. He was a friend to anyone who knew him. Heloved his children and especially his three grandsons and alsoloved to coon hunt. He loved taking care of his “buddies” as hecalled them, which were his grandchildren. He was employed at DixiePaving Singly Construction Co., which built roads. Then he workedoffshore for 30 years with Dixilyn, JFP and Hercules and hauledpulpwood on his days off. He retired in December 1997.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard and Ann LoisHolloway and Pauline Holloway; his wife of 47 years, Golda BristerHolloway; a sister, Betty Jean Cline; and his brothers-in-law,Charles Wayne Polk and Johnny Cline.

Survivors are a son, Milton Holloway and wife, Nancy; hisdaughters, Julie Ann Holloway and Alice Smith and husband, Tim, allof Jayess; a brother, Lynn Holloway, of Carson; his sisters,Charline Polk, of Panama City, Fla., Christine Holloway, ofJackson, Catherine Polk and husband, Tommy, of Columbia, RuthMelvin and husband, Wayne, of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Gail Hatfieldand husband, John, of Ardmore, Okla.; his three grandsons, CoreyMurray, of Vacherie, La., William and Byron Smith, of Jayess; histwo sisters-in-law; his two brothers-in-law; and his many nieces,nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Will Crowell, Landry Holloway, John Cline,Kenny Holloway, Milton Holloway, Shane Brister, David Brister andGreg Cullom.
