Graveside services for Mary Edwards Dickson, of Hot Springs,Ark., formerly of Dearborn, Mich., were 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9,at Hinds Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nesbit. GrossFuneral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dickson, 86, died Dec. 5, 2009. She was born in Louisville,Ky., to Dr. Oliver Patteson and Mary Virginia Edwards Miller.

She attended the University of Kentucky and the University ofLouisville earning her degree in social work. As a social worker,she found adoptive homes for children. She had many interests andwas a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Questers,Rotary Ann’s of Rotary International and both the Michigan and HotSprings Garden Clubs. Having traveled around the world with herhusband, she always said Wales, Ireland, and Hong Kong were herfavorites. Due to their travels, they spent more anniversaries outof the country than in the states. She was a member of Hot Springs’First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband of 60 years, Joe A. Dickson; adaughter, Jean Dickson Dahms, of North Little Rock, Ark.; and hertwo grandchildren.
