Carl Samuel ‘Sambo’ Ray

Carl Samuel “Sambo” Ray, 54, of Madison, passed away Friday,Jan. 1, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Visitationwill be 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wright andFerguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at thefuneral home with burial to follow in Parkway MemorialCemetery.

He was president of EA Technical Services in Atlanta, Ga., and agraduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and the University ofSouthern Mississippi. He was a member of Broadmoor BaptistChurch.

Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Ray andPhoebe Lowery.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Lowrey Ray of Madison; hissons, Anthony Ray and Joseph Ray, both of Madison; his sisters,Linda Ray Mehri of Wesson, Cindy McGehee and husband, Jerry, ofBrookhaven, and Libbie Hennington and husband, Keith, of Wesson;his brothers, Bob Lowery, of Tylertown, and Tom Lowery and wife,Stacy, of Wesson; his stepfather, Robert “Bo” Lowery and wife,Becky, of Wesson; his mother-in-law, Frances Lowrey of Byram; andseveral nieces.
