Services for Willie Dan Burton, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m.Friday, Jan. 8, at Greenwood M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burialin Gibbs Cemetery in Cuba, Ala., Saturday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuaryin Brookhaven with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Burton, 77, died Dec. 31, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Sumter County,Ala., on Feb. 8, 1932, to Deboy Burton and Annie L. Graham BurtonRucker.

He attended and received a certificate of certification in automechanics from the Manpower Development of Training Programsponsored by McComb Public Schools. He was employed with BurnhamChevrolet for 15 years and retired from the City of Brookhaven withmore than 20 years of service. Mr. Burton was a member of GreenwoodM.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, SepherBurton.

Survivors are his wife, Lillie Burton, of Brookhaven; his sons,Dr. Willie C. Burton and wife, Alberta, of Zachary, La., EddieBurton and wife, Wanda, of Montgomery, Ala., Johnny Burton andwife, Denise, of Houston, Texas, Larry Burton, of Gautier, Jessieand Willie G., both of Brookhaven, and Jerry Burton, of Meridian;his daughters, Mable Burton, of Ridgeland, and Mary Blair andhusband, Robert, of Birmingham, Ala.; his six grandchildren,Jarius, Keturah, Devan, Shenna, Shaquille and Allison; and agreat-grandchild, Jakalya.
