MSA student ‘Idol’ no-show

There were no recognizable local faces seen on Tuesday night’sepisode of “American Idol.”

Mississippi School of the Arts officials said they did not seeany footage of one of their students, who was reportedly approvedto advance to the Hollywood round, on last night’s show thatfeatured coverage of the Chicago round of auditions. Because ofprogram rules, the student has not been identified and MSAofficials could not comment further on his status.

Out of approximately 12,000 who tried out in Chicago, which wasthe largest turnout so far this season, only 13 were given “GoldenTickets” to Hollywood, said host Ryan Seacrest. Only about half ofthe contestants who got tickets to advance were featured on lastnight’s show.
