Services for Calvin Henry Britt, of Wesson, are 11 a.m. Tuesday,March 16, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lincoln County, with burialin the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Jackson Streetis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Tuesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of theservice.

Mr. Britt, 83, died March 13, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on April 28, 1926, to Henry Rock Britt and WinnieMarie Minton Britt.

He was retired after 36 years with Bell South, as a cablemaintenance supervisor. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church,where he was a deacon and former Sunday school teacher. He was aU.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served as a trustee forCopiah-Lincoln Community College for 24 years. He enjoyed raisingcattle.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, Dianne BrittMiller; an infant son; and his brothers, Denver Britt, MonvielBritt and Beaver Britt.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Minton Britt, of Wesson; his sonand daughter-in-law, Clifford Calvin and Marilyn Britt, of Wesson;his grandchildren, Michael Van Britt, Clifford Hillry Britt,Christopher Brister and Patrick Brister, all of Wesson; 11great-grandchildren; and his sister, Winnie Lowery, ofBrookhaven.
