Enterprise girls rally past Wesson

The host Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets rallied for 5 big runsin the bottom of the sixth inning for a 7-6 lead and held theWesson Cobras scoreless the final inning to preserve a big win inRegion 6-2A fastpitch softball action Monday night.
Enterprise hosts Loyd Star Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m. with thejunior varsity followed by the varsity game at 6:30. Wesson hostsTylertown at 5 and 6 Thursday.
“Two years ago, we would not have won this game,” said Enterprisegirls coach Steve Sasser. “We battled the whole game. A great ballgame between two good teams. Now we must prepare for Loyd StarThursday.”
Wesson broke a 1-all tie with Enterprise in the top of the thirdinning with 2 runs to take a 3-1 lead. In the fifth, both teamsscored a run apiece as the Cobras remained on top 4-2.
The Cobras tacked on another pair of runs in the top of the sixthfor a 6-2 lead. The Jackets rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of thesixth took take the lead and eventual win.
“In two big games this week, we have folded under pressure,” saidWesson first-year head coach Jackie Johnson. “We have got to do abetter job finishing the game.”
Taylor Nelson (2K, 1BB) took the win in relief of starter ChynnaCoughlin (6K, 1BB). Makenzie Rials (5K, 4BB) took the loss.
Wesson outhit Enterprise 10-5 at the plate.
Karla Hux powered the Jackets with a double and a single. ToriRyall tripled. Kolbi Lewis and Haley Brazell singled.
The Cobras were led by Macie McQuage with a triple and a double.Marley McCarle singled twice. Tripling was Shauntay Walker. SummerRials and Claire Whittington each collected a double apiece.Christina Fink, Mak Rials and Hannah Selman hit safely.
Junior varsity action
Wesson shut out Enterprise 8-0.
Powering the Jackets with 2 singles was Markie Case. Hannah Moaksingled.
The Cobras were led by Dylann Harris with a home run. Haley Chinntripled. Hitting safely were Jessica Delancey, Ashton Newman andCarley Fleming.
