Brook bashes McComb

MCCOMB – The Brookhaven Panthers came away with a huge 14-3 winover the McComb Tigers Tuesdsay night in baseball action.

Brookhaven (11-5, 4-1) entertain Forest Hill Thursday night for 2games. The junior varisty game begins at 5 p.m. followed by thevarsity at 7.

“This was a good bounce back after two tough losses,” saidBrookhaven head coach Randy Spring. “Brandon (Foster) threw welland we swung the bats exrtremely well against a quality pitcher(Zach Powell). Hopefully, this will get us going back in the rightdirection.”

Brookhaven led McComb 2-1 after 2 innings. The Panthers out scoredthe Tigers 12-2 over the next 5 innings to secure the win.

Foster went the distance, fanning 8 batters, waling 2 and allowed 3runs on 5 hits. Powell absorbed the loss.

Powering Ole Brook at the plate with a home run, a triple and asingle was Scottie Peavey. Foster doubled and singled.PatrickValentine ripped a double. Collecting 2 singles each wereGabe Wilson and Chris Seals. Hitting safely were Zach Halliwell,Joel Patrick, Bryce Huckaby and Drew Jones.

Bradley Brock homered for the Tigers. Hunter Aultman doubled andsingled. Following with a double apiece were Jake Simpson andPowell.
