Cougar golfers capture first place

SUMMIT — The Brookhaven Academy golf team captured first placeTuesday with a 309 in the Carr-Haskins Memorial Tournament at QuailHollow. Parklane sponsored the tournament.
Taking second place was Parklane with a 322, followed by ASC inthird with a 393, Adams County Christian School in fourth with a418 and Central Private in fifth with a 437.
BA’s Jacob Ross was the medalist with a 68, including 5 birdies andan eagle. Jennings Mills was second with a 75 followed by MarkRushing, 82; Jake Shelby, 84; Trent May, 86 and Brock Smith,87.
According to golf coach Barry Gray, the Cougars have a first andsecond place finish on the season. BA is at Halifax Golf Course onSaturday, April 8, to meet Central Hinds.
