Mr. and Mrs. Carl Linton, of McComb, announce the engagement andapproaching marriage of their daughter, Carla Michelle Linton, toCameron Newell.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Newell, of Brookhaven.

She is the granddaughter of Ada Gene Hall and the late Bobby Hall,and Mary Evelyn Linton and the late James “Red” Linton, all ofMcComb.

He is the grandson of Catherine Cox, of Brookhaven, and the lateAubrey Cox, and the late Donald Newell, of Hazlehurst, and RuthWright, of Campbellsville, Ky., and the late Eugene Wright.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of North Pike High School andgraduated summa cum laude in 2007 from Mississippi StateUniversity, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree inKinesiology. She is currently seeking a Doctor of Physical Therapydegree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where sheplans to graduate in May.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Brookhaven High School,and is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant degree at HindsCommunity College, where he plans to graduate in May 2011.

The couple will exchange vows in a seaside ceremony at 6:15 p.m. onSaturday, May 8, 2010, in Gulf Shores, Ala. A reception willfollow.
