Services for Mary Ruth Posey, of Union Church, will be held at11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, at Union Church Baptist Church inJefferson County, with burial in the Union Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 7:30 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time ofthe service at the church.

Mrs. Posey, 85, passed away on April 13, 2010, at theCardiovascular Institute of Mississippi in McComb. She was born inJefferson County on April 10, 1925, to Dan Williamson Jr. and AlmaDarsey Williamson.

She attended Jefferson County Agricultural High School in UnionChurch. Later, she married Lorenzo Dow “L.D.” Posey on Sept. 25,1943. They were married for 65 years.

She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyedspending time with her grandchildren, fishing and working in thegarden. Mary Ruth enjoyed a long, happy and blessed life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan Williamson Jr. andAlma Darsey Williamson O’Neal; her husband; her brother, WilbertWilliamson; and her sister, Alberta Dunaway.

Survivors include her sons, Lynn and Robin Posey, and their wives,Kathy and Ellen, all of Union Church; her grandchildren, Hunter,Kaitlyn, Clay and Emily Posey; her brother, S.D. Williamson, ofBrookhaven; her half brothers, David O’Neal, of Wesson, G.V.O’Neal, of Kansas; and Charles O’Neal, of Natchez; and her halfsisters, Laverne Bailey, of Lorman, and Sue Mixon, of SandyHook.
