Services for Ramon Boyd, of Monticello, were 2 p.m. Sunday,April 18, at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in Divide Cemetery.Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Boyd, 74, died April 16, 2010, at his residence. He was born inMcComb on March 18, 1936, to C.L. Boyd and Irene Smith Boyd.

He was a utility operator in the powerhouse of Georgia-Pacific inMonticello. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. His passionswere fishing, golfing and painting.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his first wife, AlmaCalhoun Boyd.

Survivors are his wife, Kathy Evans Boyd; his sons, Alex Russell,of Monticello, and Ken Lawrence and wife, Amanda, of Monticello;his daughters, Pam Ovellette, of Dallas, Texas, Vicki Helfrich, ofMadison, Ramona Boyd and husband, Doug, of Austin, Texas, and ConniLetchworth and husband, Jeffery, of Monticello; his brother, JimmyBoyd and wife, Sybil, of Baker, La.; 12 grandchildren; and onegreat-grandchild.
