Services for Kenneth “K.D.” Jackson, of Laurel, are 10 a.m.Friday, May 14, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Burialwill follow at 2 p.m. at Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven. The Rev. Henry Freeman will officiate.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Jackson, 67, of Laurel, died May 11, 2010 at hisresidence.

He was greatly loved by his family, friends, and people he workedwith. He was the owner and operator of Jackson Oilfield ConsultantCo., and worked in the oil field for 47 years. He was a member ofPark Haven Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy D. Jackson and ClydeJewel Owens Jackson, and a sister, Marilyn Daughdrill.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Martha Lofton Jackson, ofLaurel; his sons, Randy Jackson, Terry Jackson and Shannon Jackson,all of Laurel; and a sister, Barbara Ashley, of Monticello. He alsoleaves behind his dachshund, Mollie, which he lovingly referred toas his “grandbaby.”

Pallbearers are Duane Shelby, Mac McKay, Johnny Barr, Dennis Lowe,Barry Pates, William James, Jerry Ballard, Larry McIntosh, and NickWelch.
