Services Friday for former city alderman Anding

Funeral services for former Ward Five Alderman Denver L. Andingare scheduled for Friday at First Baptist Church.
Anding, 87, passed away Wednesday at his residence. He served asalderman of Ward Five from 1989 until 1993.
Ward Two Alderman Terry Bates, who served on the board withAnding, said he was a good friend to all and an honor to workwith.
“He was a great person to be around and I was proud to serve onthe board with him,” Bates said. “Brookhaven is going to misshim.”
Bates went on to laud Anding as a humanitarian and publicservant who wanted only the best for Brookhaven.
“He was always there for the betterment of Brookhaven,” Batessaid. “We were always searching for ways to better the city. He wasgood at that.”
Anding, a native of Brookhaven, was a retired driller withMarlin Drilling Co. and owned two trailer parks in Brookhaven.
He is survived by his wife Esizlee Roberts Anding; two children,Othel Anding and Sue Anding Case, and numerous grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.
Services for Anding are 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at FirstBaptist Church, with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery inBrookhaven.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive and Friday from noon until the time ofservice at the church.
