Funeral services for Ramsey Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. onSaturday, June 12, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Brookhaven,with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family FuneralService is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 80, died June 9, 2010, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 24,1929, to Willis Smith Jr. and Maude Fauver Smith.

He was retired. He served for eight years as the Lincoln CountySupervisor for District Four from 1980 to 1988. He was a veteran ofthe United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was amember of the American Legion and a superintendent with Dickersonand Bowen for many years. He was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Willis Smith Jr. andMaude Fauver Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Jean Smith; his son, DonnieRamsey Smith and wife, Teresa; his daughters, Sandra Hambach andhusband, Richard, Debbie Hill and husband, Barney, and Pam Case andhusband, Donald; his brothers, Roger Smith and Richard CarrollSmith; his sister, Dorothy Sutton and husband, James; hisgrandchildren, Angie Kent, Scott Hambach, Richard Hambach, MarkHill, Stan Hill, Shae Smith, Raven Smith, Jamin Conrad, DonovonCase, Drew Case, Cheryl Case and Aaron Imhof; and his sevengreat-grandchildren.
