Boyfriend charged in woman’s death

TYLERTOWN – The live-in boyfriend of a woman found shot andstored in a freezer in her home Thursday has been charged withmurder, Walthall County Jail officials said Saturday.
Robert Wayne Silvia, 56, of 44 Willie Cothern Road in Jayess, wascharged Friday afternoon in the death of Darlene Berthelot, 52,after being held for questioning as a suspect Thursdayafternoon.
Officials said out-of-town family members of Berthelot, who waslast seen a week ago, called the sheriff’s department concernedbecause they hadn’t heard from her.
Walthall County Sheriff Duane Dillon said when deputies went to thehome, they found evidence of a struggle. It was then that theyfound her, dead of a shotgun blast, wrapped in a sleeping bag andstored in a running freezer inside the residence.
Silvia is being held in the Walthall County Jail.
