Police probe Thursday night shooting case

Police are looking for leads in the shooting of a Brookhaven manwho was shot Thursday night at the Happy Food Mart on South FirstStreet.
Brookhaven Assistant Police Chief Nolan Jones said Anthony Nichols,age and address currently unavailable, was shot in the forehead inthe parking lot of the convenience store sometime around 10 p.m.Thursday. He was transported by ambulance to King’s DaughtersMedical Center, and from there was taken to the University ofMississippi Medical Center, where he remains in criticalcondition.
“Right now all we can really tell is that he was shot,” Jones said,adding that police are talking with several witnesses and that sofar details are sketchy.
