Shelton Dow Jr. passed away peacefully Friday, June 18, 2010.Shelton was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of FranklinCounty. He was 83 years old.

He was the beloved husband of June Ervin Dow for 60 years. He willforever be remembered by his children, son Bruce Dow and daughter,Lisa Dow Posey and husband, Jerry; five grandchildren whom headored, Shane Dow and wife, Layla, Helen Henderson Volpe andhusband, Paul, Reid Henderson, Jeffrey Baisden-Dow and Johnny Dow;three treasured great-grandchildren, Tarra, Julie and Wyatt Dow;and one sister, Diane Dow Clopton.

He was preceded in death by by his parents, Shelton and Ruby Dow;and his brother, Cecil Dow.

He was a devoted Christian. He loved being with his family andfriends, especially watching his hometown sporting teams. Sheltontouched the lives of many people with his smile and kind heart andwill be greatly missed by all.

He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and a veteran of theUnited States Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II. Heretired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Family and friends attended services on Saturday, June 19, 2010, atResthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. Visitation was from noonuntil the service time at 2 p.m. with the burial following.
