Wesson boots Nationals, Americans, Franklin win

The Dixie Youth Baseball AA 8s Coach/Pitch North Subdistrict SixTournament continued Wednesday despite a heavy afternoonthundershower at Keystone Park. Three games were played as theLincoln County Americans beat Natchez 19-10, Franklin Countysmashed Hazlehurst 16-1 and Wesson eliminated the Lincoln Nationals11-9.

In action tonight, Copiah faces Wesson at 6 p.m. on Bank ofBrookhaven field. Hazlehurst battles Natchez at 6 p.m. on the CheckExchange field. In the nightcap, Lincoln County’s Americans meetFranklin County at 8 p.m. on Bank of Brookhaven Field.

Two doubles by Corbin Falvey and a triple and a single by CadeBrown directed the Americans past Natchez. Thorne Hutson and GrantJackson each had three singles. Reese Dehart, Colby Sasser, BrittonNelson singled twice. Cole smith doubled. Carson Rounsaville andKarlton Byrd singled as the winners took a 12-4, third-inninglead.

Natchez got a triple and a single from Ethan Piazza. Braden Deerhad three singles. Bankston Jordan, Jacob Reese, Jonathan Ratcliff,Will Ray and Dylan Traxler singled twice.

Franklin Co. 16, Hazlehurst 1

Two doubles and a single by Garrett Smith powered Franklin County’sattack. Gavin Burris tripled and singled. Colby Guice doubled andsingled. Braden Whitehead, Ashton Arnold and Sam Cowart doubled.Wyatt Brumfield singled twice. Kyle Smith, Jett Watts and TristonHayles singled.

Hazlehurst got two singles from Bryce Ainsworth. Cole Eckhoff,Devin Davis and Ryan Ramsey singled.
