Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Phillips Chapman, of Brookhaven, announcethe engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, MarthaElizabeth Chapman, to Patrick Byron Simmons.

He is the son of the late Bernard C. Simmons and the late YvetteCross, both of Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Kendall Chapmanof Perry, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Percy Smith Sr., ofClinton.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Patrick Crossand the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Franklin Simmons, all ofNatchez.

The bride-elect is currently pursuing her master’s degree inlibrary and information science at the University of SouthernMississippi.

The prospective groom is the Director of Information Technologyfor GodwinGroup Advertising Agency in Jackson.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, July 31, 2010, at theFred and Jewett Taylor Chapel on the campus of Copiah-LincolnCommunity College in Wesson.

The reception will immediately follow at Porches of Wesson.
