Caleb Yarborough struck out six batters and walked two in a1-hit mound performance as R.B. Wall Oil Co. beat New York Life 3-1Monday in the opening round of the Lincoln County Dixie BoysBaseball League Tournament at Exchange Club Park.
In other tournament action on American Legion Field, Paul Jackson& Son shut out Legacy Auto 5-0 and Peoples Bank of the Southdumped Bobby’ Starter & Alternator Service 10-6.
Tournament play continues tonight, with Paul Jackson meetingPeoples Bank at 5:15, Wall Oil vs. Pete’s Interiors at 6:50 andLegacy vs. New York Life at 8:25.

Scott Bateman (1 K, 1 BB) also tossed a 1-hitter.
Jordan Mitchell had the only hit for the Oilers.
Zane Crosby singled for New York Life.
Jackson 5, Legacy 0
John Paul Jackson (0 K, 2 BB) pitched the shutout victory. MichaelLambert (3 K, 6 BB) suffered the setback.
At the plate, singles by Heath Hickman, Josh Wiggins and Jacksondirected the construction crew.
Legacy was led by Andrew Culver who doubled. Brett Spring and ChasAcy singled.
Peoples10, Bobby’s 6
Brady Wilson fanned four batters and walked four in pitching thebankers past Bobby’s. Zach Dickerson (2 K, 3 BB) was charged withthe loss.
A double and a single by Chase Buckles directed the victory.Collecting singles were Alex Neal, Sam Bivens, Jeremy Burns, TannerBoutwell, Josh Herring and Lee Knapp.
