Funeral services for Katherine Evans, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.on Friday, July 9, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel, withburial in Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Evans, 87, died July 7, 2010, at her residence. She was bornin Roseland, La., on Dec. 25, 1922, to Ernest C. Hart Sr. and MamieCutrer Hart.

She was retired and had been the office manager at JCPenney. Shewas a graduate of Brookhaven High School. She was a member of MountMoriah Baptist Church and the Home Demonstration Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Charles R.Watts and Paul Evans; her brothers, Clifton Hart Jr., Lenoir Hartand Stanley Ray Hart; and her stepgranddaughter, NikkiEichwurtzle.

Survivors are her son, Ronnie C. Watts and wife, Connie; hergrandchildren, Shellie Curtis and husband, Todd, and Tracey Cokerand husband, Trent; her great-grandchildren, Garrett, Austin, Alli,Maegan and Kailey; her stepgrandchildren, Scott Lindsey and LaraDugas; her great-stepgrandchildren, Dakota, Kyle and Logan; and herclose friend and caretaker, Daisy Fairman.
