Police investigating two weekend store incidents

Unknown suspects are still at large after back-to-back Saturdaynight break-ins at two local businesses, Brookhaven policesaid.

Police Chief Pap Henderson said someone broke into PerformanceAudio at 506 Highway 51 South around 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

He said they entered the building by breaking some glass. Someitems were taken, but Henderson said police are waiting for a listof items from the store’s owner.

Just minutes later, police were dispatched to Brookhaven Music andSound, which is located on Highway 51 as well, Henderson said. Hesaid that call came in at 8:55 p.m.

“That one wasn’t a burglary, but someone did throw a large stonethrough a glass door,” he said.

Henderson said police do believe the two crimes to be related, andare looking for any information that might lead to arrests in theincidents. He said tips can be called in to Brookhaven PoliceDepartment at 601-833-2424, or anonymously to Lincoln CountyCrimestoppers at 601-823-0150.
