Funeral services for Billy Powell Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church inBrookhaven, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andFriday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at thechurch.

Mr. Smith, 83, died Aug. 4, 2010, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Lincoln County on July 10,1927, to Frank Christopher Smith and Myrtis Williams Smith.

He was a salesman. He was a member of Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Joel ArthurSmith; and his brother, Caby Carroll Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Alyce Evelyn Smith, of Brookhaven; his son,Ricky Powell Smith and wife, Betty Jo, of Brookhaven; his brother,Frank Cary Smith, of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Amy M. Smithand husband, Brad, and Kellie Smith Wallace and husband, Jeremy;and his great-grandchildren, Walker Adam Smith, Powell ButlerSmith, Rachel Faith Smith and Warren Lamar Wallace.
