Funeral services for Marilyn B. Slay, 74, of Natchez, who diedWednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, willbe 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at Parkway Baptist Church inNatchez with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating.
Graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday inEasthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven under the direction of LairdFuneral Home in Natchez.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Slay was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Tylertown, the daughter ofGeorge Clayton Sr. and Ila Walton Brown.
She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and the Women’s MissionGroup. She was retired from International Paper Company. She was amember of the Natchez Chapter of the Daughters of the AmericanRevolution and the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Slay was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her son, Steve Slay and wife, Melissa, ofBrandon; her daughters, Sherry Brumfield and husband, Hank, of St.Francisville, La., and Deborah Walker and husband, Jeff, ofFranklin, Tenn.; her brother, George C. Brown and wife, Judy, ofBirmingham, Ala.; her sister, Jeanne B. Crasto, of Ridgeland; hergrandchildren, Douglas Brumfield, Cody Brumfield, Victoria Slay,Ashley Richardson, Faith Walker, Kiersten Walker, Savanah Walkerand Camille Walker; two nieces and four nephews.
Pallbearers are Douglas Brumfield, Cody Brumfield, John Gray, DavidHuber, James Nix and Roger Davis. Honorary pallbearer is DannyFreeman.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jack Rodriquez and staff for theircare and support.
